Honouring our values of love, service and justice
Our Diocese is named for the river Waiapu (abundant waters) , which flows below Mt Hikurangi on the East Coast where the Anglican mission began in the 1830's.
We provide a wide range of community and education services across our diocese, which stretches from Tauranga in the North to Woodville in the South.
The governance of our social service activities is provided by the Waiapu Anglican Social Services Trust Board, a dedicated team drawn from around the Diocese.
Our management and administration centre is in Napier where a small team headed by our Chief Executive Officer, works at the Anglican Administration Centre, to provide management, administrative and financial support to our 44 services across the diocese. This structure relies on the goodwill and energy of a large professional and volunteer team working in and for the communities in Waiapu.
Work is undertaken in:
- Early Childhood Care and Education
- Growing Through Grief Programmes (For children and young people experiencing change, loss or grief)
- Family and Community Development Services
- Services to Older People (Day care and home based programmes)
Our social services are inclusive and open to all people.
