We are committed to research as a key aspect of improving our practice and therefore service to our clients.
We are developing a programme of evaluating our current programmes and services as well as researching and finding out the needs of groups in our communities who may need services not currently provided.
We share our findings in a variety of local, national and international formums and also learn from others working in our fields in order that we share knowledge, support and learn from each other.
Debt in our Community
There are high levels of debt amongst families at all levels of society, however amongst low income families the impact of servicing debt can be devastating and can seriously affect both parent's and children's wellbeing.
The composite stories are based on families that those working in Waiapu Anglican Social Services have heard over the past few years.
Please read Waiapu Families in Debt here.
Refugees and Migrants Directory 2010
The information in the Directory has been complied from the internet. All efforts have been made to incliude all services available to refugees and migrants in Waiapu.

Seasons Research Project
In 2008 we were successful in gaining a Lotteries Community Research Fund grant to complete an Evaluation of the impact of the Seasons Programme for Grief and Loss. Joy Tomoana worked on this project throughout 2009 and the final report is now available by clicking here
The Board and all of those working in the Growing through Grief service are very proud of the high quality work this research has revealed and the excellent support that Seasons is providing to children and families who have experienced loss.
