Action for Social Justice
As an organisation we are committed to promoting social justice, and where appropriate taking action on issues which negatively or unfairly affect members of our communities.
Rev. Robert Bruere, vicar of the Church of St George and St John, Whakatane has led a strong challenge against the Whakatane Distict Council’s decision to sell its pensioner housing. Positive progress has been made this year.  Twelve months later, on the 11 May 2010, the Whakatane District Council decided not to sell pensioner housing.
Steps in Social Action can be found here and a fuller version of his action Template for Social Action is attached here.

Bequests

When you are considering writing or reviewing a will, there is an opportunity to support our work at our various services and sites.  Support can be given for general charitable purposes to the Waiapu Anglican Social Services Trust Board, or you may instead wish to nominate a service and/or location of interest to you.

A solicitor can advise you on the appropriate way to make a bequest to our work.
