Client Stories

The best way to get a clear understanding of the positive impact our services have on their clients' lives is to listen to the clients' own stories.
Here are some excerpts from recent 'thank you' letters:

I am writing to give you feedback about my children’s involvement in the Youth Group at Beachaven Community House. My children have been attending for the last 2 months and they both have special needs. Both Gale and Dee have been extremely accommodating and have made every effort to become informed about his diagnosis and any strategies that might assist him. They have been very approachable and dedicated to providing a safe and varied program of activities in the Youth Group.
I have noticed that both my children have gained a great deal in their emotional development especially their self esteem.

I have been coming to Beachaven for several years and I can honestly say this place saved my life. The people here totally accepted me for where I was at the time. They fully supported me at a time when I felt like I was in a deep dark pit that I kept trying to get out of but just kept sliding back down.
They knew the right people that could help us with the knowledge of who was out there. They would take us to places that we needed to go to as my can had no warrant. They would help us with food even if it was just a tin of baked beans for a meal that night.

I am writing this to let you know how important Beachaven is to our community.

As you are aware Beachaven offers lots of different things for all ages. My daughter who is 2½ benefits from the community house because we come over most Mondays and Wednesdays where she gets to interact with lots of other children who are different ages, gender and race, she will also attend Kindy and school with most of these children so it is good to know who they are as well as their parents. Play group is also good for me because I get to meet different mums and learn different techniques of parenting. My two older boys attend groups that are held every afternoon and they get to do a variety of different things that sometimes they wouldn’t get to experience. They enjoy coming and it teaches them to look out for their peers at school and around the community. They have utmost respect for Gail and Dee as I’m sure all the other kids do too.I could write pages of good comments about our community house and the lovely ladies that manage it. I think our community would be lost without it.
