ARK EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTRE, Tauranga
Ark Early Childhood Centre is a mission of the Holy Trinity Church and has operated since 4 February 1984. We have strong links to Holy Trinity and enjoy taking our older children there each week for a small service.
We are fortunate to have a huge support network with the Waiapu Social Services and also Holy Trinity and the community of our families and their extended families.
We have an enquiry learning curriculum - this is created by the children from their interests and stimulated by their families and our staff.
Our Centre is licensed for 45 children, 15 under 2 and 30 over 2 and operates on an all day licence.

Our vision is to provide an educational environment that is stimulating, exciting and empowers children to learn. The centre will reflect the bi-cultural heritage and multi-cultural society of New Zealand incorporating the curriculum, Te Whariki into the programme.
The holistic development of children will be supported by staff respecting children individually where their strengths and interests are encouraged to become competent and confident learners.
Developing a partnership with parents/guardians/Whanau through communication and consultation is encouraged and valued to support and assist children in their learning and development.
A social worker is available to all families to offer support in varying aspects of parenting and is able to assist in confidence with any concerns and who enhances and encourages positive change to all the Whanau. We endorse and encourage parent involvement with emphasis on full participation in attending our parenting programmes.

St. George’s is well established, having delivered quality education and care to the Whakatane and surrounding district since 1974. The service offers specialised programmes to both infants and toddlers, and over three-year-olds in well-resourced and appropriate learning environments.

Our Centre is unique in that we provide and respond to the family/whanau needs by employing a Family/Whanau Support Worker who is trained and qualified to assist in confidence with any concerns of families/whanau.
